Why choose Bamboo as a material?
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. Because it contains naturally-occurring antimicrobial agents, there is no need for using fertilizers or pesticides during its cultivation. Our bamboo is totally organic and wild.
Are the bristles biodegradable?
The bristles are the only part of this product that are not biodegradable. They're made of nylon 6 bpa free which is still the best way to grant a good oral care. Until today the only 100% biodegradable and efficient option is pig hair, which is a very controversial material, and one that we chose not to use in The Bam&Boo toothbrush. We will continue to work closely with our manufacturers to develop better alternatives. Until then, remove the bristles for proper recycled .
Is the packaging biodegradable?
We wanted our whole product to be ecological, including the packaging. The toothbrush comes in a compostable wrapper made from plants. The outer box is made from 100% paper and is also biodegradable.
How does Bam & Boo compensate the shipping carbon footprint?
In collaboration with Plantar uma Árvore (Plant a Tree Association), we are planting a tree a day. Every time a customer orders from us, he is contributing to a initiative that seek to promote biodiversity through restoration of native forest, actively promoting ecological sustainability, ecological awareness, participatory citizenship and social and environmental responsibility.
How to recycle?
The handle is made out of 100% biodegradable bamboo and can be disposed in your composting bin or you can give it a 2nd usage (gardening, firewood,..). The bristles are made from nylon 6 bpa free and should be recycled with plastic. We recommend to cut them off or remove them with pliers. All other packaging materials are biodegradable (envelope without plastic, carton without glue, and protection bag made of PLA (polylactic acid - biodegradable and derived from renewable resources such corn or cassava starch).
Is Bam & Boo Toothbrush vegan?
Yes all of our products are vegan: no animal testing, no animal parts.
What it the toothbrush lifespan?
Our ecological bamboo toothbrush will last just as long as a conventional plastic toothbrush. Dentists & Hygienists recommend replacing your toothbrush every 2 / 3 months & brushing daily after every meal with regular flossing for healthy teeth & gums.
Which hardness of bristles do you offer in Bam&Boo?
All our toothbrushes have soft bristles. Why? The answer is simple: Recommended by dentists!
